The shop
Deliberately unremarkable.
Last Seen Coffee is a corner shop at 1140 Corliss Ave, at 12th, in Halden. Plain glass front. Hand-lettered menu board. A small card in the window about prepaid phones and SIM cards, cash accepted. Del works most shifts. He remembers faces and says very little.
There are a few of us now, in a few cities. Every location pours the same menu under the same name. Regulars text "meet me at Last Seen" and everyone knows which one they mean. Theirs.
The beans are the part you can verify. Nothing is roasted until you order it, and every box is stamped ROASTED TO ORDER because that is exactly what happened. We hold nothing in a warehouse. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting for you.

Halden runs on unfinished business. Missing people, last calls that never connected, numbers that went dark. The boxes on our shelf take their names from cases that were never closed: Cold Case, Unknown Caller, Left on Read. Someone still has to work them.
